House Minority Leader Rep. John Boehner (R-Ohio) discussed the Republican party’s efforts to win back the majority in the upcoming midterm elections at a lunch sponsored by The Christian Science Monitor. He said a Republican takeover was going to be “an uphill climb” but it is definitely a possibility. He said the current leadership has lacked transparency and has caused unprecedented deficits, which Republicans would try to fix once they are in the majority.

John Andrew Boehner is a Republican American politician who is currently serving as the House Minority Leader in the 111th Congress. He serves as a U.S. Representative from Ohio’s 8th congressional district, which includes several rural and suburban areas near Cincinnati and Dayton and a small portion of Dayton itself.
