Moody’s Zandi: Unemployment Likely 10% by Election Day

Mark Zandi, chief economist for Moody’s Analytics, states that while he is optimistic about the economy’s long-term chances to rebound, the national unemployment rate will likely continue to rise through the November 2010 elections. “If it’s 10 percent come Election Day, I’m not sure I’d be surprised,” says Zandi. “It’s going to be in that kind of ballpark.”
