House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy weighs in on the GOP presidential field thus far. “I think Republicans are in a good place,” says McCarthy. “A longer primary is going to be better for Republicans.”


Representative Kevin McCarthy speaks with reporters at the Christian Science Monitor Breakfast. McCarthy is the House Majority Whip, having served in that position since 2011. A member of the Republican Party, he is the U.S. Congressman for California’s 22nd congressional district (since 2007). He previously served two terms in the California State Assembly, including two years as the Republican Floor Leader.
