Dagmola Sakya: “Women’s Social Role: Past, Present and Future” | Talks at Google

H.E. Dagyum Chenmo Kusho Sakya, also known as Dagmola, addresses the topic of the evolution of the social role for Tibetan women. With loving kindness and compassion as the fundamental moral principles for over a thousand years, Tibetan people have developed an unique culture in which women are regarded equal to men intrinsically, but there were still tremendous barrier for women to attain the same level of achievements, secularly or spiritually, as men could. Dagmola explains the challenges Tibetan women faced historically, and provides her vision on how women should empower themselves and exert their inherent strength to fulfill a more significant role in the modern world.
